Bluestream Project Turkey Landfall
The Blue Stream Project is a pipeline transportation system for delivery of processed gas from the network in Southern Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea. Two 24" O.D. submarine pipelines are installed for the Black Sea crossing from Dzhubga (Russia) to a landfall east of Samsun (Turkey). The two pipelines are required to be buried, in the pre-trench section, up to 10 m water depth at both ends. Both landfalls are constructed by means of the pull-in from lay barge method. In the landfall areas the two pipelines will be installed in a pre-dredged trench and then back-filled by suitable materials.
Tideway’s Scope of Work in JV is related to the dredging / excavation and backfilling works at both landfalls.
Main activities on this project were:
- Construction of cofferdam
- Dredging of floatation trench
- Dredging of trench by cutter suction dredger
- Trench maintenance
- Pipe pulling operations
- Backfilling of trench and floatation channel
- Site reinstatement
