Magnus Eor Project Landfall Construction
The Magnus Enhanched Oil Recovery (EOR) Project comprises the construction of a system to transport dry natural gas by two 20” Trunklines from the Foinhaven and Schiehallion Fields West of Scotland to the BP Magnus Platform via the Sullom Voe Terminal (SVT) located on the Shetland Islands. Additional a HDPE sleeve pipeline has been installed to accommodate for a future pipeline.
The landfall location at SVT of the two 20” Trunklines and the HDPE pipeline is at Orka Voe. All landfall onshore and marine works were carried out to enable a shore pull which was performed from the lay vessel laying offshore.
The landfall onshore and marine construction works includes the following activities:
- Preparation & maintenance of worksite
- I.e. access track, site office and fencing
- Topsoil strip and storage
- Onshore pipe installation
- Set up of pull winches
- Pulling ashore of two 20” pipelines from lay vessel
